Living to 100 is something most of us would love to do and Jean has done just that, from growing up as the second youngest of 10 kids on a farm to climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge for her 80th birthday.
Jean celebrated her 100th birthday on October 4th and has reflected on her childhood.
“My favourite thing was bike riding and I had friends who would join me for long weekend rides and when I was in my 30s I took up golf and I loved it and I did get a hole in one,” she said.
Jean was married in her early 20s and has 2 kids and has been on several different adventures throughout her life including 3 hot air balloon rides and backpacking around Australia.
“When I turned 70, my family bought me around the world ticket, I was gobsmacked and I was away for 6 months on my own and I had a most magic holiday,” Jean said.
Continuing to do Tai chi until her mid 90s she explains that eating well and exercise contributes to a good life as well as wearing a smile and treating others as you would like to be treated.
Jean has 6 grand children, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and continues to keep in contact with her friends from around the world.
