Juicey News: Community rally around to help young family

By Micaela Aboody

A few weeks ago the owner of Gen Fit, Michael, gathered the community together and started a Go Fund Me page to help a young family in need.

A member of Gen Fit, Moesha, was unfortunately involved in a serious car accident outside the centre early in the morning fracturing her ribs and breaking her foot.

“Her and her partner are only young they get by week to week and it’s just their one mode of transport for their family,” Michael said.

A local family who were selling a car and heard about the story decided to donate the car and Michael stopped the Go Fund Me page at $1800 and used that amount to fix any parts of the car that needed to be done.

“It’s the power of giving, if everyone chips in a little bit here and there you can really make some big differences,” he said.

They presented Moesha and her family with the car last week and she is currently recovering and loving the car the community helped them get.
