The HELP charity started during COVID last year when 3 friends, Michaela, Tayla-Lee and Paula, decided they wanted to help people in the community.
Director of the HELP charity, Michaela, explains how they came up with the name.
“We just have a real passion to help and make change in other peoples lives. We were talking about what inspires us and we came up with Harmony, Empowerment, Love and Peace and there it was it was the HELP charity,” she said.
They work towards helping those in domestic violence, the homeless and better futures for children and have had a lot of support from local businesses.
The HELP charity were awarded the Commbank Community Award last year and have also recently written a song, called United Souls.
“It’s all about standing up against and uniting, that’s what our thing is uniting, and being a community,” Michaela said.
