Dry July is a foundation that raises money and awareness of people affected by cancer by encouraging others to go alcohol-free for the month of July.
For the first time, Stacy Blair, took up the Dry July challenge to support people who have been affected by cancer.
“Finally just thought to myself this year that I want to be selfless in a world that right now there’s so much going on. And for me it’s just really important [because] everyone else is going on with so much, what is it to me to give up something that I enjoy on a weekend,” She said.
Stacey had a goal of $500 and with the support from colleagues, friends and family she exceeded that goal.
“I definitely felt very supported in what I’m doing both in work and outside of work,” Stacy said.
Our Good News segment highlights acts of kindness, achievements and amazing stories from local charities to the more personal accomplishments of local Gold Coasters.
