We first heard from 7-year-old Molly Wright when she was asked to present a TED talk and became the youngest to present a TED talk.
Now she is embarking on a new adventure – Molly Wildlife Warriors The Next Generation. Elerrina and Jodie had Molly join them in the studio for Good Taste Brekky to talk all about it.
Molly explains her mum, Ally, heard about an open day at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and decided to find out more about it.
“We got to explore all around the hospital and see what they do there for the first time and it was really magical… and we (Molly and her Mum, Ally) came up with this idea of how we could help and we came up with Molly’s Wildlife Warriors,” she explained.
There are 43 kids that go on fundraising events with Molly and they have already reached over their target of $10,000.
The group have only just done event 1 of fundraising and Elerrina and Jodie were so excited about event 2 they wanted to go.
“Event 2 we are going to the Stunt Academy on the morning of Halloween… and the winning group is going to get to go to Seaworld and snorkel with the sea animals,” Molly said excitedly.
Elerrina asked why it is so important that she want to help the animals at Currumbin Wildlife.
“It’s been a really big place in my heart ever since I was little. With animals I just can’t make up a favourite, I love dogs especially,” she said.
Kids of all ages can become warriors themselves and you can still donate at Molly Wildlife Warriors .
If you donate just $10 you can go in the draw to winner some incredible prizes (including Hoover 7kg Washing Machine, Sleepy Soirees Party of 6, Bunnings Voucher, Smash a Cake and loads more).
