TLDR: Good Taste Brekky hosts Elerrina and Jodie interview international superstar sibling band Sheppard.

Elerrina and Jodie had the honour of welcoming international superstar band members Amy, George, and Emma from Sheppard to Good Taste Brekky.

Despite being unable to host a world tour, Sheppard will be celebrating the release of their latest album Kaleidoscope Eyes at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Friday 3rd September, with special guest Dami Im.

Sheppard began to form when George helped Amy write songs for university assignments, and naturally snowballed through little increments into the international stardom they possess.

“I did hear, Amy, that you can peel a banana with your toes,” Elerrina said. “How did that go down?”

“I’ll never live it down!” Amy laughed. “You spend a lot of time doing nothing in the studio, \ I was bored while George was doing vocals, there was a banana in front of me so I thought I could try it – it’s a cool party trick.”

Elerrina said, “I actually wanted to give it a try as soon as I found out that’s what you could do!”

Amy said, “I think I should do it on Tik Tok and maybe it could become a viral trend.”

Jodie said, “we asked our listeners to send some questions in for you guys, so, Amy, what’s your most embarrassing moment?”

Amy laughs, “actually, probably getting called out for being able to peel bananas with my toes!”

Amy talks about another embarrassing moment when she saw Ashton Kutcher at a shopping centre before Sheppard had really taken off.

“I ran into him and Mila Kunis at a shopping centre and I just had to go and say hi, so I asked him for a photo and he kind of just said ‘not right now’ and left.”

Amy does acknowledge hindsight of reaching such fame with Sheppard since, and how she understands such encounters with celebrities.

“Emma, would you prefer arms for legs, or legs for arms?” Jodie asks.

“Oh my god, we had this conversation about this the other night while playing ‘would you rather’!” Emma says. “Maybe arms for legs.”

George goes on to talk about his surgery to fix his vocal lesion that threatened his position in the band.

Listen to the full interview to hear more of George’s surgery story and more of the band’s life stories, including their struggle with COVID-19 as musicians.
