TLDR: Last Friday local country singer Josh Setterfield joined Elerrina and Jodie to talk about and play his new single ‘Better Off’.

Last Friday Josh Setterfield released his new single Better Off and joined Elerrina and Jodie in the studio to talk about it and what he’s been up to.

Since last having him in the studio, and releasing his last single Right About Now – which got 1 million streams – Josh has been on tour with The Wolfe Brothers and Casey Barnes.

“And I got to do the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Grand Final up in Townsville, which is insane,” Josh exclaimed.

Josh reveals that he did have some doubts about his music career but continues to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

“I used just have a day job and then I started getting traction for my music,” he said.

Josh first started in punk before going into country music and realised it was “all [he] wanted to do and all [he] knew how to do”.

“This is all I wanted to do in life and I’m was like I’m gonna do that and thankfully people agreed,” Josh laughed.

He explains that it’s been tough during Covid trying to get gigs when everything kept getting shut down.

“Your doing a good job at making it work,” Elerrina said.

“Like you said before touring with Casey Barnes, The Wolfe Brothers and Shannon Noel,” Jodie agreed.

“Noelsy [sic] was the first person I toured with when I came into the Country scene and he’s just one of the most down to earth dudes,” Josh said.

For his new single Better Off he joined up with a team from Canada to write the song which is something Josh hasn’t done before.

“By the chorus I was hooked… I was like people need to hear this, everyone’s better off without something whether it’s Covid, toxic ex’s, fake friends… better off without the traffic on the way here this morning,” Josh said.
