Abbi and Samantha have created an app, called Chattii, that connects disabled people within the community.
Abbi, co-founder of Chattii, explains they created the app last year during COVID.
“I was working in the disability community sector, and I thought you know I’ve had a few people come to me and say, ‘I don’t know where to meet anybody’, and I kind of put everything together and thought lets do this, lets create an online dating app for people living with a disability,” she said.
Chattii went from 15 users in the first month to 60 in the next month and has increased since last year.
Samantha, co-founder, works in the NDIS sector and says a lot of clients have not been able to get out and meet people.
“I do have a lot of adult clients and a lot of them really struggle to spend their social and community budget, which means they’re not getting out there and meeting people,” she said.
