For the past 5 years Grand Motors Toyota have been running a blanket and sleeping bag drive which they are continuing this year. The blankets will be donated to Rosies and given to the homeless this Winter.
Marketing Manager at Grand Motors, Katherine, says she came up with the idea from her neighbour who was a volunteer at Rosies.
“She mentioned that they hand out a lot of blankets during the cold months and at the time I remember […] on the news as well about people in our local community who are doing it tough,” she said.
In past years they have donated up to 700 sleeping bags and blankets. Currently they have 93 blankets donated but are aiming for 200.
“Just speaking with Rosies recently, there’s a lot of people who really need warmth,” Katherine said.
The drive ends on June 4th, if you would like to help by donating a blanket or sleeping bag you can drop them off at Grand Motors Toyota at 265 Ferry Rd, Southport.
