Newlife Care have been around for nearly 27 years running programs and events for people in need on the Gold Coast.
Interim Executive Officer, David, explains some of the programs include Princess for a day (pampering ladies who do not usually get the chance), a Christmas hamper appeal and their weekly Crossroads event.
“We run Crossroads every Friday which is a disability centre-based day care, we get about 100 adults there each Friday, their carers and about 70 volunteers,” he said.
Newlife have several volunteers including Jared who attended Crossroads and now volunteers at their op-shop.
“He also collects all the bottles, cans and everything else from our mission dinners and gets all the money from that and then ties it back to overseas mission. So, he’s really got the heart for what we do,” he said.
Assimilating people into the community is what Newlife aim to do.
