St John’s Crisis Centre provide meals and clothing to those in need on the Gold Coast and are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.

The General Manager for St Johns Crisis Centre, Dianne, explains they can serve up to 60 – 80 meals in a day.

“We also provide emergency relief for people in dire need of assistance with food vouchers, fuel vouchers, utility bills. And we can also offer medical assistance,” she said.

In the last year they have experienced an increase in people needing food assistance and have provided over 33,000 meals. Over the last month dnata catering, an in-flight caterer, and Snapfresh, a ready-made meal manufacturer, have provided them with 400 meals.

Hiranjan, CEO of dnata catering and Snapfresh, explains he heard about the centre through the school his children attend.

“Our commitment is to fill the fridge once a month ongoing at least for the next year or two, so that we can see through and help out our fellow Gold Coasters,” he said.
