Needles aren’t everyone’s favourite, but they don’t seem to phase Holly who, for the past 14 years, has been giving blood donations through Red Cross Lifeblood.
Last month Holly turned 30 and instead of gifts she asked 30 of her friends and family to give a blood donation and started Holly’s 30 for 30.
“My 30th birthday was in August this year and I thought to do something kind of fun and worth while for my 30th to celebrate,” she said.
So far, Holly has reached 25 out of the 30 donations and is encouraging friends and family to become regular donors. She explains that 1 in 3 people will need a blood donation throughout their lifetime.
“Only takes an hour or so and people are in desperate need of it, it’s an easy way to do something good,” Holly said.
Holly has just done her 126th blood donation and hopes to encourage others.
