St Vincent De Paul (SVDP) have opened The Hub, where people can go for assistance all in the one place.
South Coast Executive Officer for SVDP, Kris Martin, explains they wanted to find a way to centralise all the external facilities to better help the people they are assisting.
“We needed a way to help companions beyond the normal means that we normally help people with, we’re already helping people on the Gold Coast with food, money, clothing and furniture,” he said.
The Hub has already been operating for 3 months and is a first for the St Vincent De Paul Society. With the help of their many volunteers they are able to provide several services including those affected by Domestic Violence, Homelessness
“Without our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to achieve anything like we have, we’re very fortunate that we’ve got volunteers that care about the community that they live in,” Kris said.
