Epilepsy is something no one should have to go through, especially a child. 1 and a half year old Sofi has a rare form of epilepsy where she has prolonged seizures.
Her dad, Rafael, explains it was really hard for him and his wife as they didn’t know much about epilepsy.
“Try to find understand more about it, try to find more information, try to find the right support for us and our family and especially for sofi to give her the best future she can have,” he said.
Rafael has decided to join Walk For Epilepsy by doing 31 half marathons throughout the month of October. Each day Rafael is dedicating one of his half marathons to someone else living with epilepsy.
“What I do after the run is share their story on my Instagram so the people can read about all of these stories and they’re all connecting and connect with more people,” Rafael said.
Fortunately, with the current medication Sofi is on, her seizures are becoming shorter and more manageable, you can follow Rafael’s stories on his Instagram at rafagarcia_n.
